Doug Ford Signed Personal Logo 'Doug Ford' Golf Ball

Offered here is the late Doug Ford signed 'Doug Ford' signature golf ball in clean black marker. In sports history there is nothing like calling your success in advance, and then producing. In the 1932 World Series Babe Ruth pointed to the stands, and then produced a home run. At a Thursday media gathering prior to the 1969 Super Bowl Joe Namath "guaranteed" that his heavy underdog New York Jets team would be victorious, he followed up leading the Jets to victory and earning game MVP honors in Super Bowl III. In the golfing world Doug Ford made a similar boast, predicting two weeks prior to the 1957 Masters that he would win with a score of 283. It took a Sunday charge, shooting a final round 66, capped by a birdie 3 at the 18th, where he holed out from the bunker. Oh yes, in winning Ford shot exactly 283. The late champion won the 1955 PGA Championship during his World Golf Hall of Fame career. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed the signature and their auction letter of authenticity will come with this lot.
