Sam Snead Multi-Signed 1938 Crescent City Open SC with Player Badge & Quick Way Mag.
The
1938 Crescent City Open golf tournament was the second time that a
professional golf tournament came to New Orleans. Held at City Park golf
course it attracted many of the top golfers. Here is a rare original
signed scorecard from that event by the winner “Lighthorse” Harry Cooper
(72), Sam Snead, the scorer, (74), and Dick Metz (74) dated 2/21/38.
Also included is a round celluloid Contestant badge, and Sam Snead’s
book, “quick way to BETTER GOLF.” Please note that the scorecard is
affixed inside the book. The tournament still exists under its present
name The Zurich Classic of New Orleans, making it one of the oldest
stops on the PGA tour. James Spence Authentication (JSA) has reviewed
this signature and their auction letter of authenticity comes with this
lot.
