Vintage 'Don't Be Outdriven' Play the Haig Walter Hagen Broadside Advertisement

"Don't Be Outdriven! Play The Haig - the 'Split-Second' Ball" this broadside standup advertisement on heavy cardboard from Walter Hagen's golf equipment company suggested to golfers within eyesight. Blaze orange have proven to be one of the most visually piercing and attention grabbing colors, and the orange on the black background of this sign exhibits just that preferred effect. A dimple golf ball illustration follows the text, with horizontal lines showing movement. One of the most marketable golfers of his day, Walter Hagen was known for his sense of style and love of the finer things in life in addition to being a prolific winner on the course. Walter Hagen (1892-1969), the first giant of American golf who captured 11 Majors and helped raise professional golf to never previously seen levels. An excellent exemplar out of the golf advertising category, the majority of these were disposed of once the campaign stopped, balls were sold out or they were damaged at the chosen retail store. It has been preserved to good condition, with only small blemishes on the jet black sign. 12" x 8"
