Winnie Palmer, whose full name was Winifred Walzer, was the first wife of legendary golfer Arnold Palmer. Although she wasn't a golfer herself, Winnie played a significant role in supporting Arnold's career and becoming a beloved figure in the golfing community. Married in 1954, the couple had two daughters together, Amy and Peggy. Winnie was known for her graciousness, warmth, and dedication to her family. Tragically, Winnie Palmer passed away in 1999 after a battle with ovarian cancer, leaving behind a legacy of love, support, and philanthropy, particularly through the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando, Florida, which was named in her honor.
